અવિભાજ્ય સંખ્યાઓ મૂળ સંખ્યાઓ-  જે સંખ્યા ના બે જ અવયવ હોય તેને અવિભાજ્ય સંખ્યા કહે છે અવિભાજ્ય સંખ્યા ના અવયવ એક અને તે સંખ્યા પોતે હોય છે.

2 અવયવ      1, 2    (2એ 1 ઘડીયામાં અને 2 ઘડીયામાં આવે છે. ) જેથી 2 અવિભાજ્ય સંખ્યા છે.

વિભાજ્ય સંખ્યા કે સંયુક્ત સંખ્યા- જે સંખ્યાને બેથી વધુ અવયવ હોય તેને વિભાજ્ય સંખ્યા કહે છે.

4 અવયવ      1, 2, 4     (2એ 1 ઘડીયામાં, 2 ઘડીયામાં અને 4 ઘડીયામાં આવે છે. ) જેથી 4  વિભાજ્ય સંખ્યા છે.

પૂર્વગામી સંખ્યા અને અનુગામી સંખ્યા- 

પૂર્વગામી ( પુરોગામી ) સંખ્યા- 

પૂર્વગામી ( પુરોગામી ) સંખ્યા અને અનુગામી સંખ્યા આપેલી સંખ્યાની પહેલાં તરત જ આવતી સંખ્યાને પૂર્વગામી સંખ્યા કહે છે.

ઉદાહરણ –  12 એ 13  પહેલાં આવતી સંખ્યા છે .

માટે 12 એ 13 ની પૂર્વગામી સંખ્યા છે .

પૂર્વગામી સંખ્યા આપેલી સંખ્યા કરતાં 1 જેટલી નાની હોય છે .

જો x એ yની પૂર્વગામી સંખ્યા હોય , તો y- x = 1 અથવા x- y = −1 હોય છે .

અનુગામી સંખ્યા- 

આપેલી સંખ્યાની પછી તરત જ આવતી સંખ્યાને અનુગામી સંખ્યા કહે છે .

ઉદાહરણ –  25 એ 24 પછી આવતી સંખ્યા છે .

માટે 25 એ 24 ની અનુગામી સંખ્યા છે .

અનુગામી સંખ્યા આપેલી સંખ્યા કરતાં 1 જેટલી મોટી હોય છે .

જો x એ yની અનુગામી સંખ્યા હોય , તો x – 9 = 1 અથવા y – x = 1 હોય છે.

બાળકોને યાદ રખાવવા માટે પુર્વજોનુંં ઉદાહરણ આપી શકો. દાદા, પિતા, પુત્ર દ્વારા શીખવી શકાય.
